How Therapy Helps

When patterns in relationships or emotional responses start to feel overwhelming, it can be difficult to understand where they come from or how to change them. Therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect, and begin making sense of the experiences that shape how you think, feel, and relate to others.

In our work together, we explore the underlying patterns that may be keeping you stuck—whether that is anxious attachment, overthinking in relationships, emotional reactivity, or difficulty trusting yourself and others. Rather than focusing only on immediate symptoms, therapy helps uncover the deeper experiences and beliefs that influence these patterns.

Through this process, many clients begin to develop a clearer understanding of their emotional responses and learn new ways to regulate stress, communicate needs, and navigate relationships more securely. Over time, therapy can help you move from reacting automatically to responding with greater awareness and choice.

The goal is not simply to “fix” difficult emotions, but to understand them and develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others. As patterns become clearer and new skills begin to take shape, many people experience greater emotional stability, stronger boundaries, and more fulfilling connections in their lives.

How we can help you:

My Approach: The Rise Framework

Healing relational patterns often requires more than simply understanding what is happening in the moment. Many of the emotional responses we experience in relationships are shaped by earlier experiences and learned patterns of coping.

The work I offer is guided by the RISE Framework, a process that supports clients in moving from awareness to lasting change. While each person’s journey unfolds differently, the work generally moves through four interconnected phases.

Recognize

We begin by identifying the patterns that are showing up in your life and relationships. This includes noticing emotional triggers, attachment dynamics, and the beliefs that may be shaping how you respond to others and to yourself. Developing this awareness is often the first step toward meaningful change.

Once patterns are recognized, we explore the experiences and emotions connected to them. This stage involves making sense of past experiences, understanding how they continue to influence the present, and integrating these insights in a way that promotes self-compassion and clarity.

Integrate

As understanding deepens, we begin building new skills and capacities. This may include developing emotional regulation, improving communication, setting healthier boundaries, and learning ways to respond to difficult emotions without becoming overwhelmed by them.

Strengthen

Over time, these shifts allow new ways of relating to take shape. Clients often begin to experience greater emotional stability, more secure relationships, and a stronger sense of trust in themselves. The goal is not perfection, but a growing ability to move through life and relationships with greater awareness, resilience, and intention.

Who I am:

Hi! I’m Elena, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who has had her own share of unique life experiences. I have adopted the perspective that we have the ability to restart our lives at any point and regenerate who we are in the world. I am a big believer that we have the power to become the highest version of ourselves. It all begins with the mind.

I have fallen into this liminal threshold many times in my life. I have been stuck in between where I am and where I want to go. Thankfully my knowledge as a therapist has aided me to pushing past these obstacles. Now it’s my turn to share that knowledge with you.

At Liminal Mind Therapy, we honour the in-between: the uncertainty, the unraveling, and the quiet power of transformation. Through evidence-based therapy and soul-rooted guidance, we help you reconnect with your inner wisdom, rewire old patterns, and step fully into the life you're meant to live.
