What is a liminal mind?

The liminal mind is the space between who you have been and who you are becoming.

It is the moment when familiar ways of thinking, feeling, or relating no longer seem to work, yet the path forward has not fully taken shape. This space can feel uncertain, even disorienting—but it is also where meaningful change begins.

In therapy, this “in-between” space often appears when old patterns start to loosen. The beliefs, reactions, or relationship dynamics that once felt fixed begin to shift, creating room for new ways of understanding yourself and relating to others.

Rather than rushing past this stage, our work invites you to slow down and explore it. Within this space, insight grows, emotional patterns become clearer, and new possibilities start to emerge.

This is the liminal mind: a place where reflection, healing, and transformation can unfold.

Who am I?

  • My name is Elena. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC). I became a therapist because of my love for self-development, I have always been in awe of the power of the human mind to repair itself. I love watching my clients make key realizations, heal their wounds and improve their lives.

I am a second-generation Macedonian (a tiny little country in the heart of Southeastern Europe). I have years of experience researching vulnerable populations and working with people from diverse communities. I love to travel, eat new food, have fun with my friends and spend time with my grandparents.

  • I am a therapist who supports adolescents, adults, couples, and families in navigating trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, identity shifts, and self-exploration. My approach is rooted in compassion and curiosity, with a strong focus on helping clients build self-esteem and reconnect with their sense of self.

I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and an Honours Bachelor of Science in Forensic Psychology from the University of Toronto. In addition to my academic training, I am certified in Mental Health First Aid and Trauma Screening, and I am currently completing my designation as a Certified Complex Trauma Professional (CCTP).

  • Therapy is your unique journey. You are the expert of your life. I am here to walk beside you on your path to healing, creating your new life and regenerating.

I am a strong believer that we are lifelong learners and sometimes we learn best by building connections with others, in this case, me, your therapist. By working together in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space, we can explore absolutely anything and everything that is on your mind. Together we can help bring you closer to the highest, most healed version of yourself.

I favour an integrative approach to therapy, where we can pick and choose pieces of certain theories and practices that fit best to your needs.

I take a trauma-informed, and culturally informed stance in my practice to ensure your comfort and understanding. I like to incorporate Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Internal Family Systems to pull on your strengths to make meaningful changes.

Radical Healing. Intentional Growth. Lasting Change. *

We encounter liminal spaces in real life, think of a dim hallway, an empty airport, even the “backrooms”. These spaces can feel eery because we recognize that we are in a state of uncertainty and fear.

In our life, we sometimes feel in-between (stuck, lost, seeking renewal) — Liminal Mind Therapy offers a pathway through.

Whether you're navigating trauma, grief, burnout, or life transitions, our work is rooted in science, alchemy, and the belief that transformation is not only possible — it's inevitable when you're supported.
