Welcome to Liminal Mind Therapy. By accessing and using this website or engaging in therapy services with us, you agree to the following Terms of Service. These terms are designed to provide clarity, transparency, and mutual respect in the therapeutic relationship.
1. Scope of Services
Liminal Mind Therapy offers individual therapy, couples counselling, and mental health services to adults and adolescents in Ontario. Sessions are conducted online and are rooted in evidence-based practices such as trauma-informed therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), CBT, DBT, and integrative approaches.
2. Client Eligibility
Clients must be residents of Canada and over the age of 16 to engage in therapy services. For clients under 18, written consent from a parent or guardian may be required depending on the circumstances and clinical appropriateness. As I am physically located in Ontario, all sessions are held in Eastern Time (Toronto, ON GMT-4).
3. Confidentiality
All sessions are strictly confidential and comply with the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). Exceptions to confidentiality include:
Risk of harm to self or others
Suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable person
Legal obligations such as court orders
Your privacy and trust are central to our work together.
4. Fees and Payment
Session fees are discussed in advance and are payable at the time of service. Liminal Mind Therapy does offer direct billing to insurance providers. If you have extended health benefits you can input your insurance information (depending on your provider) and have them be billed directly.
We accept payment via debit or credit card through a secure online platform, Jane App.
5. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
We require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Missed sessions or late cancellations will be charged at the full session rate. Exceptions will be made for emergencies or unforeseen circumstances.
6. Crisis Support
Liminal Mind Therapy is not a crisis service. If you are in immediate distress or danger, please call 911 or visit your nearest emergency department. You may also contact local crisis lines such as:

7. Online Therapy & Technology
Online therapy is delivered using secure, encrypted video platform through Jane App to ensure client confidentiality. However, clients are responsible for ensuring they are in a private and secure environment during sessions.
8. Termination of Services
Either you or your therapist may choose to end therapy at any time. If therapy is no longer a fit, we are happy to provide referrals or support with the transition.
